I first met David many decades ago when he was running Max Roach, from our very first interaction the things I noticed were his twinkly eyes, huge smile from ear to ear, belly laugh and kind and gentle soul. He was a healer, and he healed so many of us and always strove to make the world a better place, especially for the young people he worked with. Although we didn’t work together directly he always made time to ask me how I was and how my son was. He would share stories of his own children and loved ones and had the biggest heart. I know they meant the world to them, and I’m incredibly heart broken for their loss. David thank you for being such a wonderful human and showing us all how to be better too.
